Employees & Shareholders
In striving to meet customer expectations and realise their own sales and production targets, enterprises must not overlook their obligations to other stakeholders in the business.
Occupational Health and Safety compliance is a legal requirement in most countries. In Ireland, the primary legislation is The Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act (SHAWAWA) 2005. This is underpinned by a number of regulations, the most recent and comprehensive of which is S.I. No. 299 of 2007. The Act sets out the rights and obligations of both employers and employees and provides for substantial fines and penalties for breaches of the health and safety legislation.
OHSAS 18001
The importance of managing Occupational Health and Safety is recognised by all interested parties: employers, employees, customers, suppliers, insurers, shareholders, the community, contractors, and regulatory agencies. OHSAS 18001 can be used by organisations of all sizes regardless of the nature of their activities or location. Organisations can now achieve third party certification for their Occupational Health and Safety management system.
Corporate Governance
The concept of corporate governance and legal compliance has become a major legal, political and economic issue. If your enterprise is an incorporated entity or a trading partnership, make sure you are aware of, and can confirm compliance with your responsibilities in this regard.
Recruitment & Employment Law
The recruitment of new employees and their continuing employment is subject to numerous laws and regulations and can be a minefield for the unwary employer.

ISO 26000
The need for organizations in both public and private sectors to behave in a socially responsible way is becoming a generalized requirement of society. While ISO 26000, will not be certifiable, there is no reason why a certification body couldn’t carry out an audit and issue a statement of compliance. |
